Rearcross U-12's 1 - Nenagh AFC 'B' 2

Rearcross started the game very slowly and allowed the Nenagh side to control proceedings for the initial period with Rearcross pegged back and having to defend strenuously for the first 10 minutes of the game. However Eimear Carey stood up to whatever was thrown at her in the centre of Defence with Cathal Dervan & Gearoid Corrigan also playing blinders to rule out any treat Nenagh could muster. After the initial period Rearcross came more into the game with Amber Deegan & Cormac Sheedy starting to get hold of Midfield and Cathal Malone starting to win the 50/50 challenges around the middle of the park. After 20 minutes Cathal Malone broke on the left hand side and played Tristan Deegan through who took on the Nenagh defence but was cut off before he could fire at goal to give Rearcross a corner. From the resulting corner the ball broke to Ailin Rochford who slotted a low shot to the back on the Nenagh net to put Rearcross ahead. Tristan Deegan & Ailin Rochford were to prove unlucky after the kick off with some fine passes between them to give Tristan a chance of goal from the left hand side but was denied by the Nenagh keeper. Nenagh had their own chance in the final period of the 1st half but with some fine goal keeping from Joseph Dawson in the Rea goals, Rearcross went in at half time 1 nil to the good.
Rearcross and Nenagh were evenly matched for the 1st 10 minutes of the 2nd half with Ellie Kennedy proving to be a handful for the Nenagh side, dominating the middle of the park with some fine penetrating runs at the Nenagh defence and also some exceptional tackling to win possession for Rearcross time and time again. However against the run of play Nenagh broke on the left hand side of midfield and what seems like a cross from Nenaghs No. 6 was to prove fatal as the ball deceived Joseph Dawson in goal and looped over his head to bring the scoreline even. 5 minutes later Rearcross were to suffer another setback when a clearance from the Rearcross defence was to rich-a-shea off a Rearcross player for an own goal to put Nenagh 2-1 ahead. Cian McNamara & Killian Healy played solidly throughout the game with strong performances in midfield but it was Eimear Carey who was outstanding throughout with her ability to put defence into attack from a central defensive position. Joseph Dawson was also dominant in goals for Rearcross with a fine display all day. Rearcross were to dominate the final 15 minutes of the contest but were unable to score with Ellie kennedy, Tristan Deegan and Ailin Rochford coming close on a number of occasions.
